The Edmonton Police Service Robbery Unit is asking for the public’s help in identifying four suspects involved in an armed robbery at a pawn shop on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023.
At 6:20 p.m., the suspects, who were wearing masks, gloves, and carrying bags, entered the store located around 92 Street and 34 Avenue. Three customers and three employees were present at the time.
According to police, one suspect, armed with a handgun, ordered everyone to lie on the ground. As two store clerks tried to flee, the gunman fired at them but missed.
The third employee and three customers were not able to flee but were unharmed. The suspects then broke a glass display case containing jewelry, grabbed as much as they could, and ran out the front door.
CCTV footage of the incident and images of some of the stolen jewelry.
Police believe that the suspects may also be responsible for a robbery that took place on Dec. 16, 2022, at Big C Pawn, located around 46 Street and 118 Avenue.
“Due to the violent and reckless behavior of these suspects, we are advising pawn shops and jewelry stores to be cautious about who they allow in their stores,” says Detective Michael Walkom with the EPS Robbery Section. “For the safety of all staff and patrons, it is highly recommended that customers are only allowed access after they have shown their faces and provided identification.”

Anyone who has any information regarding the robbery is asked to contact investigators at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
