No charges in murder of 13-year-old boy at Edmonton LRT station: EPS

    UP NEXT:

A local pawn shop owner is recovering after being shot in an armed robbery. The unprovoked attack happened after the thieves already stole what they wanted, which has police concerned for what other unnecessary violence could happen in the community. Elliott Knopp reports.

Edmonton police are looking for two men following an armed robbery at a pawn shop.

EPS say in December, officers responded to reports of a theft at a pawn shop near 118 Avenue and 46 Street, after two men reportedly stole cash and jewelry from the buisness.

“Before fleeing on foot, one of the suspects shot both staff members working there at the time,” said Edmonton police in a statement.

Both staff members sustained non-life-threatening injuries, but did require medical attention.

“The brazenness of this daytime robbery, and the willingness of the suspects to shoot cooperative employees, is extremely concerning,” said Detective Mike Walkom of Robbery Section. “We really need the public’s help to identify these dangerous individuals so that they don’t cause harm to anyone else.”

EPS say the incident was captured on CCTV. One of the suspects was described as wearing a white facemask, black hoodie, black toque, and black pants. The other was wearing grey pants, red underwear, black jacket, black shoes, tan and black gloves, and a baseball hat with red brim.

Anyone who has any information regarding the theft is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
