Husband charged in wife’s death in northeast Edmonton

An Edmonton man is facing second-degree murder charges in connection with his wife’s death in the city’s northeast.

Police say 54-year-old Vasile Roman was arrested Thursday at a home on 75A Street and 166 Avenue.

Officers say they were responding to a domestic call around 4:30 p.m.

EPS officers found the body of 51-year-old Daniela Roman in the basement.

An autopsy “confirmed the cause of death as multiple blunt and crush injuries with the manner being homicide.”
