Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) is dealing with the aftermath of a morning blaze that happened over the weekend.
Firefighters responded to a fire at a duplex near 40 Avenue and 21 Street just before 5 a.m. on Sunday.
By the time they arrived, the flames spread to a neighbouring home.
EFRS says around 6:40 a.m. the fire was under control and around 11:15 a.m. it was fully out.
No injuries were reported from any of the residents of the homes; however, one firefighter was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been released.
Firefighters say the fire started in the backyard of the duplex and spread. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
The estimated damages caused by the fire are around $1.3 million.
