Gas prices continue to drop, Edmonton sitting as one of the lowest

The average price for a litre of regular gas has continued to drop across the province this year, and Edmonton drivers are in luck as the city has some of the lowest prices, according to Gasbuddy.
Prices have been steady over the past week, with the average cost of regular gas sitting around $1.30 a litre, a 13-cent drop from last month.
Overall, prices have been dropping, and they are about 22 cents cheaper than the average national price for regular gas ($1.52 per litre).
Gas was $1.27 a litre in Edmonton this time last year.

Red Deer prices are sitting at around $1.26 on average as of Monday according to Gasbuddy, and over the weekend the city recorded the lowest price in all of Canada.
Around Alberta, Fort McMurray is sitting at $1.55 on average and Calgary’s average price is about $1.38.
As of Monday morning, Alberta’s average regular gas price is $1.35 a litre and is the lowest provincial average in the country. Ontario sits at $1.45 per litre, with Toronto going above that at $1.44 per litre. British Columbia holds the highest average of all provinces in the country at $1.85 per litre.
