3rd dangerous persons alert issued in Saskatchewan for reports of shots fired at 2 homes

Another dangerous persons alert has been issued in Saskatchewan, the third in three days, after reports shots had been fired at two different residences in R.M. of Britannia and Lloydminster.

Maidstone RCMP officers say in a statement they are investigating reports of shots fired at a residence in R.M. of Britannia from a black, newer model Ford Mustang. They say the same vehicle is also suspected in another incident of shots fired at a residence in Lloydminster while also attempting to steal fuel in R.M. of Britannia.

No suspect description has been made available as of Tuesday morning.

RCMP say if you are in the area to seek immediate shelter or to shelter in place and encourage residents not to approach suspicious individuals or pick up hitchhikers.

Anyone who spots the vehicle is asked to report the information to 911 or police.

At this time, it’s not believed to be related to Sunday’s deadly stabbing rampage on the James Smith Cree Nation and in the village of Weldon, northeast of Saskatoon.

This is the third alert in as many days in the province. The remaining suspect in the stabbings, 30-year-old Myles Sanderson, is still at large.

A second alert was issued Monday for the area of Witchekan Lake First Nation following a shooting on the First Nation. It has since been cancelled as police arrested one of the suspects in Saskatoon. Officers say another suspect is still outstanding.
