Man killed in shooting at convenience store in Maskwacis: RCMP

Police say a 27-year-old man was killed in a shooting at a convenience store in Maskwacis on Thursday evening.

The victim was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Maskwacis RCMP say a 21-year-old from Maskwacis was arrested. He was charged with second-degree murder.

Police are hoping to speak to potential witnesses who were in the area of the Sampson Mall on Thursday.

Alberta RCMP’s major crime unit is investigating.

Maskwacis is about 100 kilometres south of Edmonton.
