Arson of homes under construction in Sherwood Park; police release surveillance video

Police are looking to identify two suspects believed to be connected to the arson of two homes under construction in Sherwood Park.

Strathcona County RCMP say they’ve identified two men in their late teens or early 20s believed to be responsible for burning the homes in the residential subdivision of Summerwood in the early morning of July 23.

Police say the two individuals arrived at the new residential development in a silver or grey four-door sedan around 2:30 a.m. RCMP say they can be seen walking towards the homes under construction.

Police say about 45 minutes later, the same two individuals walk back to their vehicle and leave the area going south on Sandstone Boulevard.

At 3:37 a.m., police say flames are seen coming from the homes.

Video of the suspects, their vehicle and the fire was shared by RCMP.
