Davies Transit Centre opens as bus routes adjust to fall service hours

Edmonton Transit will be adjusting to fall service hours to compensate for the increase in travelers heading to work and school on Sept. 4.

On top of routes being adjusted, the City will be opening the Davies Transit Centre on Sept. 4. On-demand transit service will also be available at the same time.

According to the city, the Davies Transit Centre is said to provide transit riders a larger waiting area, improved security, and public washrooms.

The 900 Park and Ride facility will replace the Millgate Transit Centre, which will permanently close on Sept. 3.

Riders will see an increased frequency on many bus routes, with the start of transit service at the new Davies Transit Centre, and a high-frequency express route between Mill Woods and downtown – Route 73, which will replace Route 510X.

Route 73 will be realigned from 86 Street to 75 Street and connect to the Davies Transit Centre. It will also not travel along Connors Road, instead moving to 98 Avenue and 85 Avenue.

Bus routes that will change as of Sept. 4 according to the City of Edmonton are:

The transit service will run between Blackburne and Westview Village neighbourhoods and Weir Industrial Zone/Roper Industrial Zone (Davies Transit Centre) and Cloverdale (future Strathearn LRT stop) due to the Millgate Transit Centre closure.
