Missing Edmonton teen located in Oregon

A 13-year-old girl who was missing in Edmonton was found.

The girl went missing on June 24 after arriving at Killarney Junior High, but she did not attend class.

Police say she was found in Oregon on July 2.

A 41-year-old Oregon man is facing child luring charges.

An Amber Alert was not sent out. For an Amber Alert to be sent out in Alberta, four specific criteria need to be met:

  • A child or an adult with a proven mental or physical disability has been abducted;
  • The child or adult is in danger of serious harm or death;
  • There’s enough descriptive information to enable the public to identify the:
    • child or adult;
    • abductor, or;
    • mode of transportation;
  • There’s a reasonable expectation the abductee could be returned, or the abductor could be apprehended.
