Edmonton man charged with 1st-degree murder after body found in burning vehicle last year
A 25-year-old Edmonton man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Vanessa Silva.
The body of the 29-year-old victim was found inside a burning vehicle in Strathcona County on Sept. 15, 2021.
The Alberta RCMP major crimes unit says it conducted “an extensive investigation” and arrested a suspect on Friday.

He was charged and has been remanded into custody.
His first appearance date is May 11 in Edmonton.
