Edmonton men charged with drug trafficking after cocaine, shotgun, $29K seized

Two men from Edmonton are facing charges related to drug trafficking related to an investigation that began late last year.

Police say they seized drugs, weapons and cash from a multi-unit residence in Saddleback during an operation on April 12.

Police seized a shotgun, two kilos of cocaine, 17 kilos of a buffing agent, psilocybin mushrooms, contraband cigarettes, nunchucks and brass knuckles, and $29,000 in cash from multiple suites at the residence.

The operation was conducted by Edmonton police and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT).

A 40-year-old man was charged with trafficking a controlled substance, proceeds of crime over $5,000, and possession of a prohibited / restricted weapon, among several other charges.

A 38-year-old man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
