Edmonton police are investigating after a morning shooting in the city’s southeast.

EPS said the shooting occurred around 11 a.m. near 82 St. and 36. Ave, with initial reports claiming someone had been shot.

Upon responding, EPS found a woman in her 20s that had been shot. She was taken to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.

A nearby school – Grace Martin school – was also put on lockdown but has since been reopened.

Police say the woman has no ties to the Grace Martin school, and they do believe the shooting was targeted.
