Alberta Premier pens letter calling for vaccine mandate for truckers to be dropped

Alberta Premier Jason Kenny has joined Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and over a dozen American governors calling for an end to the mandatory vaccination requirements for truckers.
Today, I've signed a letter along with @PremierScottMoe, @GovGianforte and 15 other American governors urging President Biden and Prime Minister Trudeau to drop the cross-border vaccine mandate for truckers.
It's bad public health theatre and it needs to go.

The vaccination mandate has caused backlash over the last couple of weeks in both Alberta and Canada. Sparking protests at border crossings across the country.
Kenney says in a series of tweets, “The trucker vax mandate has no credible public health benefit, but has caused predictable disruption.”
The letter was addressed to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Joe Biden and demanded the immediate reinstatement of the vaccine and quarantine exemptions for cross-border truckers.
“We are deeply concerned that terminating these exemptions has had demonstrably negative impacts on the North American supply chain, the cost of living, and access to essential products for people in both countries,” the letter read.
All 15 governors who signed the letter are Republican and include those who represent border states like Montana and Idaho.

The Canadian Trucking Alliance has said ongoing protests do not represent the majority of their membership.
Nearly 90 per cent of truckers in Canada have received doses of the vaccine.
