Freezing rain leading to poor road conditions

Edmonton police are advising motorists to take extra caution following numerous collisions and reports of vehicles being stuck due to the poor conditions caused by freezing rain.

Edmontonians are being asked to avoid 23 Ave. between 119 St. and Magrath Rd., as roughly 40 vehicles are stuck in both east and westbound lanes.

EPS have since stated 23 Ave. will open shortly as sand has been put down on the hill.

EPS also said between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., 37 collisions were reported.
