Explosion, fire at crude oil tank farm east of Edmonton

Emergency services personnel from several regional fire departments east of Edmonton responded to an explosion and fire at a crude oil tank farm Saturday.

The RCMP say the fire in Two Hills County was contained to the tank farm site, and that no one was injured.

They also say no homes were threatened by the fire, but that traffic was blocked around the facility because smoke was impeding visibility.

Police say they don’t believe at this time that the explosion is criminal in nature.
