RCMP investigate fire at Siksika First Nation Catholic Church

CALGARY — RCMP are investigating a suspicious fire at the Siksika First Nation Catholic Church.
Around 12:30 Monday morning mounties were called to the church after a fire is said to have been deliberately set.
The local fire department was able to put out the fire before any significant damage was done to the structure.
Nobody was in the church at the time of the fire.

RCMP and provincial fire investigators are now involved in the investigation.
This incident would be the latest in a string of fires at catholic churches in Canada following the recent discoveries of unmarked graves at Residential Schools, once run by the church.
To date, there have been at least four fires in B.C., and an Edmonton church was vandalized with red paint over the weekend.
