EDMONTON — Alberta Premier Jason Kenney is set to provide an update on the province’s strategy for the easing of restrictions on Wednesday.

Alberta has seen a decline in daily case counts since restrictions were imposed several weeks ago, with 387 new cases being identified on Tuesday.

Active cases, hospitalization numbers, the provincial R-Value, and positivity rate have also seen steady declines over the last few weeks.

Back on May 4 when Kenney announced a new wave of restrictions, Alberta had more than 23,000 active cases of COVID-19. That number has since dropped to slightly over 12,000.

Premier Kenney’s update is set to take place at 11:30 a.m.
