Wildfire alert issued in Parkland County

PARKLAND COUNTY (CityNews) — An emergency alert has been issued for Parkland County as a wildfire spread Thursday evening.

Officials say the fire west of Tomahawk is moving rapidly in a northwest direction.

Windy conditions are contributing to the fire’s spread.

Residents who live west of Range Rd #62 to the western border of Parkland County should be prepared for possible immediate evacuation.

Due to dry and windy conditions, fire advisories have been issued for most of Alberta’s forest areas.
