EDMONTON (CityNews) — Police say they shut down an underground drug lab located in southeast Edmonton last month and arrested three people in connection with the operation.
In a release, Edmonton police say three people are facing multiple drug and weapon-related charges following the March 18 bust, which concluded a four-month investigation.
EPS investigators say they seized methamphetamines, fentanyl, nearly $800,000 worth of drug production equipment, $24,000 in cash, a stolen Ford Platinum Escape and several weapons.
The value of all the seized assets — taken from three separate locations — totalled nearly $1 million, police say.
After searches at the first two locations, police say they discovered the underground drug lab operation at an industrial shop near 77 Avenue and 18 Street.
“Members of the EPS Clandestine Lab Response Team were brought on scene to ensure the safe dismantling and seizure of lab equipment and drugs,” read the release.
Edmonton residents Leigh Gilbert Squires, 41, Alyssa Mary Loyer Casavant, 33, and Jaritt Jacob Fedun, 36, are facing several charges. They include: producing a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property and possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon.
