The booking site went live at 9:00 a.m. with reservations for the south region but almost immediately, Albertans took to social media to say they couldn’t even get online.

Alberta Parks is using a staggered approach to reservations with Kananaskis opening at 11:00 a.m., the central region at 1:00 p.m. and the north region at 3:00 p.m.

A reminder you can only book a campsite 90 days in advance while comfort camping sites can be booked up to 180 days in advance.

Alberta Parks is recommending you make an account right away and look at what campsite you want to book, so you aren’t overwhelmed when reservations open up.

If last year was any indication sites will be booked up pretty fast as 2020 was the busiest camping season in Alberta ever with almost 300,000 reservations booked. The year prior had 200,000 bookings.
