31 more people die from COVID-19 in Alberta

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Alberta health officials are reporting 31 new deaths due to COVID-19 and 989 more cases of the virus.
A total 1,272 Albertans have passed away from COVID.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw says there are 827 people in hospital – 132 of whom are in intensive care.

Hinshaw believes there are some positive signs in the province but people must remain vigilant.
“We have seen encouraging signs but the spread is still high,” she wrote in a tweet. “Let’s keep the momentum going by continuing to follow the current measures in place, as well as all other public health guidance.”
Meanwhile the province says 42,333 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
