Quebec to impose 8 p.m. provincewide curfew until Feb. 8

MONTREAL _ Quebec Premier Francois Legault is imposing a provincewide 8 p.m. curfew beginning Saturday as a way to halt surging COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations.
The province will become the first in the country to impose such a drastic measure to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Offices, working from home will be mandatory. Businesses that are deemed to be non-essential will continue to be closed until the 8th of February. Curbside pickup will be allowed. You can buy a coat at the door of a store. #QcPoli #BREAKINGNEWS

Legault says the curfew will last between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. for four weeks, until Feb. 8.
Working from home will be mandatory. Businesses that are deemed to be non-essential will continue to be closed. Curbside pickup will be allowed.
Grocery stores will close at 7:30 p.m. Depanneurs where there is a gas station will remain open as well as pharmacies.
Restaurants, gyms, cinemas will remain closed.

Primary schools will be open beginning on Monday. Kids will be asked to wear face masks in the hallways and students in grads five and six will need to keep the mask on in their classrooms.
Highschools will remain online for another week. In-person classes will return on Jan. 18.
People who live alone will still be allowed to have one visitor, but Legault asked Quebecers to be very careful with who they invite over, wear a mask while in their company, and stay two metres apart.
Quebecers caught breaking curfew could end up with a fine of $6,000.
