Several Calgary roads remain closed, blocked in storm aftermath

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Dozens of roads around the city remain closed off or partially blocked following Saturday night’s storm.

Calgary was struck by hail and torrential rain, which led to pooling water and flash flooding on many streets and highways.

Police say they are working with tow truck drivers to clear away vehicles that were abandoned on the side of the road. Drivers are being asked to remain patient as the clean-up operation gets underway.

Residents that were forced to leave a vehicle by the side of the road are being told to contact the Calgary Parking Authority’s municipal impound lot.
