Tribute to Nova Scotia rings through Banff

BANFF (660 NEWS) – Tributes to those killed in the shooting massacre in Nova Scotia continue to pour in with the Town of Banff sending its support through music.

On Monday morning, seven songs rang from the carillon bells in St. George in the Pines Anglican Church including “Farewell to Nova Scotia”.

Heather Jean Jordan, a Banff based musician dedicated the performance to the people of Nova Scotia.

She began with ringing bells for those who died followed by several songs including “Amazing Grace”, “Working Man”, “I Love This Town” and “Northwest Passage.”

In Calgary, flags at City Hall have been flown at half-mast while many Albertans have displayed the provincial flag of Nova Scotia in solidarity.

Alberta and Nova Scotia have always held a special bond, as many blue nosers have come to the province for work and wound up setting down roots.
