Calgary Expo postponed til summer 2020

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – One of the biggest gatherings in Calgary won’t take place this spring.
In a statement posted to its website, the President of the Calgary Expo said the event will not go ahead as planned in April but be postponed to sometime in the summer.
“I know I speak for the Calgary Expo team when I say that we would love nothing more than to celebrate Calgary Expo 15 with you,” said Aman Gupta in the statement.
“Our strength is in our community, and that is what has made the Calgary Expo rise for the past 15 years.”
Gupta said this was not an easy decision to come to and that they have been working hard to “bring you the show in some form”.
“To be fully transparent, the team and I are feeling the same roller coaster of emotions as this situation changes day by day.”
However, Gupta said this is the right thing to do
“Ultimately, the safety of our fans, guests and staff comes first. It’s our responsibility to do our part to honour and support the efforts of the front-line professionals making enormous sacrifices to keep us safe right now.”
Although no new date has been set so far, Gupta said they will provide more information in an update no later than March 30.
He said that he understands if potential visitors want to take advantage of the Fan First refund program, but encourages them to hold on for a while longer.
“We’re all working from home, staying connected every way we can, and working with partners who are doing the same.”
