Alberta public asked to keep lookout for missing Yellowknife woman

YELLOWKNIFE (660 NEWS) – Yellowknife RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing woman who has been known to visit both Calgary and Edmonton in the past.

Sladjana Petrovic, a 60-year-old Caucasian woman was last seen Dec. 26 downtown Yellowknife at around 3:40 p.m. leaving her apartment building on 53 St and walking towards Franklin Avenue.

RCMP started searching for her the next day and requested public assistance Dec. 30.

Petrovic is described as 5’7, 275 pounds, heavily built with shoulder-length pepper and brown hair and blue eyes.

In a photo the investigation produced, she was wearing a dark blue jacket with a light blue liner, a pink or red shirt, black or dark pants and running shoes.

She was also appeared to be carrying a black or grey bag or purse and it is believed she would be wearing the same outfit when she was last seen.

And residences and businesses in the downtown around that area are encouraged to take a look at any video footage from security cameras and vehicle dash cameras around the hours of 3 p.m. to midnight.

Yellowknife Ground Search and Rescue (YKGSAR) have been searching the downtown area and may continue to have patrols looking for Petrovic.

Those in the Calgary and Edmonton area are also asked to keep a lookout, as Petrovic has been known to visit the areas in the past.

RCMP are concerned for Petrovic’s safety and are encouraging anyone with any information regarding her whereabouts to contact either Yellowknife RCMP at 867-669-1111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
