Nathan Gervais convicted of first-degree murder

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A judge has found Nathan Gervais guilty of first-degree murder.
Gervais was in a Calgary courtroom Wednesday morning, where he is on trial for the death of Lukas Strasser-Hird.
While the justice said he cannot conclude the murder was planned, he said it is clear Gervais stabbed Strasser-Hird and committed forcible confinement

The Calgary teen was killed outside of a nightclub in the Beltline area in 2013.
Gervais was originally set to stand trial in 2016 but fled the country and was arrested in Vietnam last year.
Victim impact statements from the family will be read later this month.
