New UCP candidate under fire

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Controversy is swirling around the UCP candidate who just replaced Caylan Ford, who resigned over white supremacist remarks.
Jeremy Wong, the new United Conservative candidate for Calgary-Mountain View, is under fire for apparently saying “women should submit to their husbands.”
The comments were made in a recent sermon attributed to Wong, who is a pastor with the Calgary Chinese Alliance Church.
A clip of the sermon was posted online by the NDP.
In it, the pastor says “Wives, respect your husbands. Wives, submit to your husbands. Husbands love your wives.”
There have also been concerns raised by critics about Wong’s alleged ties to an organization supporting conversion therapy for members of the LGBTQ community.
