A victory for the Alberta Party

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – Three more Alberta Party candidates have won in court and will run in the spring election.

Rachel Timmermans, Tim Meech and Ali Haymour were originally banned from running for five years after failing to file nomination financial reports on time.

Party leader Stephen Mandel said he’s pleased with the decision.

“These decisions reinforce the importance of having a democratic process that’s open, fair and accessible. All Albertans deserve the opportunity to step forward to represent their communities and voters deserve a choice.”

Six members of the Alberta Party were ruled ineligible to run in February including Mandel.

A decision on his appeal is expected Friday.
