Man charged in Friday murder

EDMONTON (CITYNEWS) – Police have laid charges in relation to a murder from last week.
On Friday morning, police responded to the report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in the area of 214 Street and Breckenridge Drive. Upon arrival, they found a 49-year-old woman with critical injuries. She died on scene.
Later that morning, the 53-year-old suspect turned himself in to police. Investigators have now charged Wen Zhou Zhang, 53, has been charged with second-degree murder and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
This is Edmonton’s 28th homicide of 2018.
