Conservative Alberta MP calling out Liberals to take more action on oil price differential

OTTAWA (660 NEWS) – An Alberta Member of Parliament is vowing to keep up the fight in Ottawa for the province’s oilsands.

Conservative Lakeland MP Shannon Stubbs called for and was granted an emergency debate of the House of Commons Wednesday night to discuss oil price differential, calling it a crisis.

She said despite being granted the session, she still feels the Liberal government is not taking the matter seriously.

“More energy investment lost in this country under these liberals than any other time in the last 70 years. It’s about time for the liberals to stop talking and stop with their platitudes and actually take aggressive action to fix the crisis that they’ve created.”

During the debate, Calgary Centre Liberal MP Kent Hehr blamed the Harper government policies for projects like Northern Gateway and the Trans Mountain expansion being ‘stalled.’
