Man seriously injured after tour bus rolls down hill at Alberta’s Columbia Icefield

One man has been badly injured after a tour bus rolled down a hill on the Columbia Icefield.
RCMP say the man was the only one involved and that no one else was on the Ice Explorer bus when the accident occurred around 1 p.m. Tuesday, about 120 kilometres south of Jasper.
The bus normally carries tourists on a road leading to the Athabasca Glacier at the icefield, which straddles the Alberta-British Columbia boundary.
The investigation has been handed over to Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
In a statement, Pursuit, the company that runs the bus tours, says because of an “on-site incident,” it has cancelled its tours until Thursday.
Three people died and 14 were seriously injured in a 2020 crash when a Ice Explorer lost control and rolled in what a judge later determined to be caused by a “catastrophic braking issue.”
