Police say a 21-year-old woman was killed in a collision on Highway 16, west of Edmonton, on Monday afternoon.
Parkland County RCMP say the woman, a resident of Drayton Valley, was driving a Jeep Liberty when it collided with a gravel truck on Highway 16 at Range Road 43 around 2 p.m.
Police say the truck was travelling west on Highway 16 and turning south on Range Road 43 when it collided with the woman’s oncoming Jeep.
The woman was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the gravel truck sustained minor injuries.
Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors.
Mounties say they were on the scene several hours to conduct the investigation.
