Driver killed as BMW collides with tree: Edmonton police

Edmonton police say one person is dead following a single-vehicle collision Saturday morning.
EPS responded to 142 Street near 90 Avenue around 3:15 a.m., after receiving a report that a BMW had lost control, gone off the road, and hit a tree.
The driver of the BMW was the only person in the vehicle at the time, and they were declared dead at the scene.
Police believe speed was a factor in the collision, but an investigation is ongoing.
EPS had 142 Street between 87 Avenue and 91 Avenue closed due to the investigation.
