Sherwood Park man charged in child pornography investigation

A 45-year-old Sherwood Park man is facing multiple child pornography-related charges following an investigation by the Northern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.

In April 2025, the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) ICE Unit launched an investigation into an individual suspected of possessing child pornography.

As part of the investigation, Strathcona County RCMP’s General Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at a Sherwood Park residence on Tuesday.

Cory Anthony Fredrick has been charged with possession of child pornography and possession of child pornography for the purpose of distribution.

Fredrick was released on conditions following a hearing before a justice of the peace. He is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on May 28, 2025.
