Alberta RCMP says they are investigating an alleged assault at the Little Stars Daycare in Spruce Grove.
Mounties say on March 6, they received a complaint regarding the daycare.
Since, officers have begun to investigate, and have been able to identify four victims. RCMP have confirmed to CityNews that all four are children.
It is believed assaults may have occurred on February 19, but were reported between Mar. 6 and 12, however, investigators believe there may be more victims.
CityNews reached out to Matt Jones, Alberta Jobs, Economy and Trade Minister who said, “In this particular case, it is before the RCMP, they are investigating alongside my childcare licencing division. We’ve issued a probationary licence to the childcare provider in question, and we will take further steps as additional information comes forward, including a potential closure of the program if required to protect the other children, there are about 100 children in care of this facility.”
RCMP says if your child attends the daycare in question, and you believe your child may have been a victim to an assault, contact investigators at 825-220-7267 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Editor’s note: RCMP corrected when the alleged assaults took place, and when they were reported.
