Three Canadian cities crack top 10 most livable list in the world

Three Canadian cities have made the top 10 list of the most livable cities in the world.
The annual ranking, compiled by the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Index 2022, is described as looking a lot like it did pre-pandemic with Vienna, Austria recapturing the top spot after dropping last year due to COVID restrictions, closing museums and restaurants.
If you live in Calgary or Vancouver, your city is in the top five for most livable cities, trailing behind only Vienna, Copenhagen, Denmark and Zurich, Switzerland.
Toronto has slipped from fourth to eighth place overall.

The only non-European cities to break into the top 10 are Osaka in Japan and Australia’s Melbourne.
The rankings are based on 30 categories, including overall stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.
