New COVID-19 cases hit 10-month low in Alberta

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) — The Alberta Government reported 60 new cases of COVID–19 on Monday, the lowest single day total since August of last year.

The results came back on 2,822 tests, so 2.1 per cent came back positive.

There were also 33 new variant cases detected in the province over the past 24 hours.

There are 2,003 active cases in the province, including 214 in hospital and 56 in the ICU. Calgary still has the highest share of active cases, with 954.

Two new deaths have also been reported, raising the total to 2,292 since the pandemic began.

On the vaccination front, more than 3.8 million doses have been administered and 70.7 per cent of eligible Albertans have received at least one dose. As of Monday, 29.2 per cent of eligible Albertans are considered fully immunized with two doses.
