New poll shows dwindling support for Alberta Premier

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – A new poll is casting light on just how angry Albertans are with the provincial government.

According to a survey from Leger and Associates, only 27 per cent of Albertans polled are satisfied with the current state of the UCP government.

By comparison, Ontario had a 57 per cent satisfaction while Quebec had 72 per cent.

Another survey from Leger asked respondents to rate the performance of their government and Premier in several areas including management of the pandemic, health services, and finances.

Only 30 per cent approve of Premier Jason Kenney’s handling of the pandemic with only 23 per cent approving of the province’s financial situation.

The Leger poll also looked at different characteristics of the premiers including communication, transparency, and decisiveness with Kenney scoring in the middle of the pack on all categories.

The survey was conducted between Dec. 4-20, before news broke that several MLAs and UCP staff members vacationed overseas during the Christmas holidays.
