Police escort planned for slain Calgary police officer

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – There will be a police escort for Sgt. Andrew Harnett Tuesday as his body is taken from the medical examiner’s office to the funeral home.

The Calgary police Skye Boat and Honour Guard, accompanied by officers from the traffic section, will be part of the procession which will head east along Memorial Drive from Bowness to Forest Lawn.

Employees from Calgary police will line the route at around noon.

Calgarians are welcome to join in on lining the route but are asked to follow all COVID-19 safety protocols, including maintaining a safe distance.
