In her latest COVID-19 update, Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw took the chance to clear up some questions for those living alone under the restrictions.
“I realize the impacts that isolation may have on both emotional and mental health,” said Hinshaw.
She says those living alone may choose two people to socialize with indoors and in close contact.
She adds that if you live with anyone, a roommate, a tenant, or family, you do not qualify as living alone.
The two chosen to socialize with must be the same two for the duration of the restrictions and do not have to live by themselves.
However, if the two chosen do live with someone else, you must host them at your home, not theirs.
“I know it can be challenging to chose only two people, so I would like to thank Albertans in this situation for being flexible and doing their part to bend the curve.”
