Seven new COVID-19 deaths in Alberta, cases rise by 713 Tuesday

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – Seven more Albertans have died as a result of COVID-19 in the province.

The latest deaths involve:

  • Two males in their 80s linked to the outbreak at Mayerthorpe Extendicare in North Zone.
  • A female in her 80s linked to the outbreak at the South Terrace Continuing Care Centre in Edmonton Zone.
  • A male in his 90s linked to the outbreak at the Covenant Care Chateau Vitaline facility in Edmonton Zone.
  • A male in his 80s linked to the outbreak at Edmonton General Care Centre in Edmonton Zone.
  • A female in her 70s from Edmonton Zone. Not linked to continuing care.
  • A male in his 90s linked to the outbreak at the Wing Kei Care Centre in Calgary Zone.

 

The latest deaths bring Alberta’s total number to 376.

This comes as 713 new cases of the virus are being reported. There are 3,434 active cases in the Calgary zone and 3,255 in the Edmonton zone.

Two hundred and seven people are in the hospital, with 43 in the ICU.

As of Tuesday afternoon, more than twenty-sx thousand people have recovered from the virus.
