EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – Alberta’s Education Minister, Adriana LaGrange, will meet with school boards on Wednesday to discuss how a big injection of federal funding will be distributed, 660 NEWS has learned.
Ottawa announced last week that Alberta is receiving $262 million to cover COVID-19 related expenses, such as increased cleaning and safety costs, as well as online learning and teacher training.
The funding is in addition to the support and funding the province has already provided, including about $120 million in school authority funding, $250 million in accelerated capital maintenance and renewal funding, and $10 million in PPE for the schools.
