There’s a lesson for Trudeau from past minorities: Premier Kenney

OTTAWA – Alberta Premier Jason Kenney spent Tuesday morning sitting down with federal MPs from his province, all of them on the opposition benches after the October election.
However, Kenney said in a minority Liberal government, they will have influence.
He said a lesson from the minority governments under Conservative leader Stephen Harper is that the Liberals will need to listen to MPs from all parties to survive.

Kenney will meet with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Tuesday afternoon, their first face-to-face encounter since the election.
The Premier is taking five requests with him into the discussion, including changes to environmental-assessment legislation, federal funding support and the setting of a firm timeline to get the Trans Mountain pipeline operational.
His meeting with Trudeau will cap off two full days of meetings in Ottawa, part of his drive to get what he calls a “fair deal” for Albertans.
