There’s something familiar in the new trailer for ‘Ghostbusters’

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – It’s a summer blockbuster with a local twist.

On Monday, the first trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife premiered and if you look closely you can see some familiar scenes in the background.

The film, written and directed by Jason Reitman is a sequel to the hit franchise from the 1980s.

In Feb. 2019, The president of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees confirmed the Ghostbusters movie would be filmed in Calgary and surrounding communities.

Shooting in Alberta wrapped up in October.

The trailer not only shows the nostalgic views of the Ghostbusters vehicle and ghost-trapper but also the scenery of the badlands and the Empress Theatre in Fort Macleod.

There’s also what appears to be a stack of Timbits during one of the scenes.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is set to hit theatres in the summer of 2020.
