Over half a million Albertans cast advance votes in federal election

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Canadians got out to vote early in droves this year.
Elections Canada says 4.8 million people cast advance ballots across Canada between Friday and Monday, which is a 29 per cent increase from 2015.
In Alberta, the numbers are also impressive, with 578,219 people voting in advance.

That represents about 19 per cent of all eligible voters in the province and is a more than six per cent increase from advance voting numbers in 2015.
Also, for comparison, there were nearly 700,000 Albertans who cast ballots in advance during the provincial election in April.
