Charges pending after fatal domestic incident in Rocky Mountain House

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE – One woman is dead and another is injured in Rocky Mountain House after what RCMP confirmed was a “domestic situation.”

RCMP responded to 911 complaints of a man with a gun in a home shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Upon arrival, officers found a 28-year-old woman dead and a 29-year-old woman suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP have identified the injured woman as the homicide victim’s sister.

Mounties say three children who were also inside the home were not injured, while the man had left the scene.

The 44-year-old man later turned himself into Rocky Mountain House RCMP and remains in police custody, with charges pending.
