Opera star from Nova Scotia recovering in Calgary hospital

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — A Canadian opera star is recovering in a Calgary hospital after major surgery for a heart problem.

On Facebook, Measha Brueggergosman puts out a thank you to her surgeon.

The soprano says she had a double bypass after suffering severe chest pain about a week ago, on the day she was to fly home to Nova Scotia.

Her condition prevented her from attending her father’s funeral.

Brueggergosman, who turns 42 this Friday, also had open heart surgery ten years ago.
