AHS warn of Tuberculosis exposure at daycare in Calgary Zone

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Alberta Health Services (AHS) has issued notification letters to 150 people who may have been exposed to Tuberculosis.
AHS says that people or their children may have been exposed after a confirmed case at a daycare in the Calgary Zone.
Notification letters include information on arrangements for standard Tuberculosis assessment, screening and treatment, if required.

Only those who received notification letters from AHS are considered possibly exposed to this case.
Risk of transmission to these people is low, and the case doesn’t present an ongoing risk at the daycare or to the general public.
To protect patient confidentiality, no further case-specific details will be released by AHS and the name of the daycare which the exposure took place will not be released.
